Welcome back to the swamp, Gators! I read an amazing book over the summer--The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Do you know the story of The Jungle Book? The one that has a little boy (Mowgli) lost in a jungle and cared for by Baloo the bear? Baloo teaches Mowgli how to survive--bear style. In the Graveyard book, Bod--short for Nobody--is raised by the ghosts in the graveyard! They teach him to be invisible, how to haunt and other things needed to survive in a graveyard! The book starts with a murder, is set mainly in a graveyard, with danger always lurking nearby. So fabulous! No wonder it won the Newbery--an award for excellence in children's and young adult books. Look for it in the new books or under FIC GAI. You might also be interested in reading more about Neil Gaiman, who also wrote Coraline, from his website: http://www.neilgaiman.com/ or hearing him read the entire book, chapter by chapter here: http://www.mousecircus.com/videotour.aspx
